For the past few years, I have been returning from NCHBC tournaments in Missouri and telling my friend Keenan Mann* about the high level of basketball played there. This time I came home armed with loads of video footage. After showing some of my favorite clips to Keenan, I convinced him to get on the phone with me and talk hoops. This is a lighthearted conversation (with video footage included) about three homeschool hoopers from Memphis, TN, who caught my eye (and now Keenan's) particularly because of the way they handle the ball. Enjoy!

*Keenan Mann (featured in the video above) needs no introduction in my town (Augusta, GA). But for the nationwide audience, Keenan is one of four players in Georgia Regents University history to have his jersey retired. He is 4th on the all time scoring list. He also earned an MBA and has had a great career in business at global companies like Electrolux and Husqvarna. His
Letter to a Hoops Dreamer is a great read for any aspiring young "hooper." And
his interview with former college teammate Brian Schmall is hilarious and touching. Readers of this blog will hopefully see more of Keenan over time.
If you enjoyed this, here are some more ways to get more informed about the national homeschool hoops scene:
Follow @NCHBCLive on Twitter. The timeline contains over 500 tweets and hundreds of video clips from the first weekend of homeschool hoops action. I plan to update the feed regularly throughout the season.
Follow @HSLive365 on Twitter and hslive365.com on the web. The "worldwide leader in homeschool sports" coverage features rankings of the country's top boys (and soon girls) basketball teams, stories about teams and players, information about national tournaments for homeschool sports (more than just basketball), and much more.
